Service Contracts and Maintenance

The ‘NEED’
for planned maintenance & extended warranty
Factors affecting the reliability
of combination ovens in general
Little or no maintenance
of the ovens
…. In our experience, if the machine is not regularly
maintained, breakdown will occur at a time when the machine
is in most demand. Repair costs will be expensive.
THIS IS CALLED ‘SODS LAW’
Repairs carried out by incompetent
or untrained service personnel
In many instances, machines are being repaired by fitting
parts until the fault is found, with engineers having little
or no conception of the diagnostic and function programmes.
This results in potentially, high cost of ownership.
Inadequate customer knowledge
with respect to the functions of the machine
There is a need for some basic
instruction.
Inadequate, or lack of water
treatment
-
Inadequate, or lack of water treatment
to a combination oven has been proved to cause significant
scaling of the steam generator, drain box, and interior
cabinet. These are areas where the water contains a high
proportion of temporary hardness.
- It has been proved that severe scaling of the components
in the machine will cause unpredictable breakdowns, with
high costs for replacement of parts damaged directly, and
indirectly by the scale.
- A properly installed, and maintained calcium treatment
unit, will ensure that there is no build up of scale, which
will result in a significant reduction in spare parts costs.
(PLEASE NOTE: not salt-based water softeners)
